some other good films that are considered the best of asia cinema in the horror genre are Ichi the Killer, Audition, Visitor Q, Oldboy, Ring and Dark waters.

Check out a film called "Come and See" Real life horror. I have quite a high tolerance for disturbing imagery. I'm into "hard" film, so to speak, but I had to stop this one to take a break and gather myself. Also, "Irreversible", but u probably seen that.

"Cure" by kiyoshi kurosawa. it's more suspense than horror, but this guys movies are so eerie i think they rank among the best j horror.

i love horror - particularly older movies. try and see 'the dead of night' if you can.

most recently watched Rob Zombie's remake of Halloween - pretty good i thought. and Braindead - if you fancy some gore
