I'm doing something wrong and I am not sure what. Basically, I have a Midi plugin which needs to go on its own midi track. Then I have a synth on its own midi track. What I need to do is Connect the midi plugin and the synth via another midi track which has the midi plugin as the input and the synth as the output. Then, apparently, I can use the midi plugin track to play the synth. It's not working though, here's how I have set it up.
The synth and the Midiplug are left as normal, the 3rd midi track has the 'midi from' the midi plugin and the 'midi to' is set to the synth.
Am I missing something here?
Ableton & Midi Plugins
i've recreated your post,
and i think you've forgot to set your monitor to 'in'

this is how i did it , and it worked
the midi from on channel 1 has to be your midi keyboard.
hope it helps

yeah that's a faster way, and i've asked myself the same question. But maybe AK has a good reason for this so I did it like he wantedRobot Criminal wrote:2nd to that.4am wrote:what kind of midi plugin are you using?
if i understand right, you don't need the 3rd midi track.
Why not just set the Absynth track to "MIDI from: 1 MIDI" and monitor "in"
