Unmastered problem

Post by ewinz »

Hi guys, I've got a problem.
I have to send a track in wav format for a label. The problem is here. The label told me my track is mastered and I have to put off all my compressors on the channels and on the master channel. But I don't have any compressor or something to 'master' my track, so it isn't mastered at all.
I'd like to know how come my track is mastered, and how can I send it unmastered.

Thanks
Aestetics.

a limiter maybe or something like vintage warmer? have you done something with the wav thats reduced the headroom by increasing the volume?

as covered elsewhere, its easier for a mastering engineer to increase/emphasise something in a track than reduce it.

could be to do with that.

That shouldn't be the biggest problem if it's only here, but post a pic of the wav file..

Did you already check if you track is clipping-free? (The master volume should never be red), but i don't know if that has sth. to do with the problem..
