but the v in vbr is for "variable", or in other words it's any quality you set it to. you can encode vbr that's 320kbps+ quality

would love to go into the bitrate discussion, but for us 256 is sufficient for this time.. we might change it to 320,but nothing planned in the near future :]

its all about the mastering, guys....there are also 320mps out there with bad sound. so a high bitrate without mastering or a lower bitrate with good mastering - i prefer 2. option
