Kurbits Records is a new label based in Stockholm, Sweden.
Our first release is by young romanian Dan Andrei and
limited to a run of 300 copies.
Two tracks of dusty, percussive tool techno.
First out is Untitled 1 on the label side.
Aimed at the floor, driven by layered percussion in a rolling groove
it offers 11 minutes of exciting mixing possibilities.
Untitled 2 draws from the same raw sound palette, but twists
the ambience into more of a dreamy, late morning vibe using vocal
samples to further build and release tension.
Dan Andrei has previously released on Romanian label A:rpia:r,
appearing alongside Petre Inspirescu and Rhadoo and also on German
label Be Chosen featuring a remix by Mannheim’s Federico Molinari.
Early support for Kurbits 001 comes from Efdemin, who mentions
Untitled 1 as a top ten favorite of January ’09.
