Annoying sounds with Reverb

Post by niminal »

I am getting a light airy type sound behind my track notes which is really audible when i play light noises with Reverb . Its almost like a pianissimo heavy grinding noise.

Is this my cheap sound card telling me to invest in something better?

I am using FL8 on a 512mb laptop :?

Put an eq or filter before the reverb in the effect chain and turn down the highs.

Yeah, slap an eq before the returns and remove the offending frequencies. If the reverb comes with eq, might be wise to access that section and control the dampness. Personally, if you can initialize the patch, you are better off designing it from scratch for your part/buss.
