oh jeezes...
who gives a fck how or what a person uses to perform. did it bring people in? did they dance and have fun? did they buy drinks and spend money? did everyone go home happy?
saying that digital dj's are boring to watch means you're paying far too much attention to something that is only a tool to allow someone to do their job.
why don't you tell me next that dj's that don't use the pioneer 600's effects every 30sec. are more interesting than someone who just mixes good music together.
or better yet, tell me that the only way a live pa is fun is if a guy lugs thousands of dollars of equipment out and sets it all up with no guarantee it'll be fully functional.

whoa, that's a weird party.
man this conversation took an odd turn. hahaha.
i feel like the people who complain about new tools like ableton and traktor are just has-been vinyl dj's who are pissed off somebody can do what they do, on a basic level, more easily and that some people might be better than them without having to "beat match" which for vinyl dj's seems to be the most important skill.
i'd take a 100% digital dj who gives me a good night over a vinyl dj who can beatmatch perfectly but whose taste and flow of music sucks.
