I like the new design.
Black keys on silver reminds me my old atari 800 and commodore 64
New Macs Announced
I just found out this:Robot Criminal wrote:I guess it SHOULD be backwards compatible, don't know...Lord_Iron wrote: and btw, the new macbookpro, do they only have firewire 800 ??

So yeah, it is compatible. But I don't like that now they are going to force musicians/producers to buy a macbook pro (when the old macbooks dissapear on the shops) just because of the missing firewire port...in that case I think it would be better and cheaper to buy a nice laptop pc ...

Lame.
this fact really disappointed me as well
I love the compact 13" design, but the 15" has the FW
how are we supposed to use Motu Ultralite's or Target Disk Mode?
FW 800 is backwards compatible to FW 400 with a cable connector
I might grab one of those Black Macbooks on the cheap and put a solidstate drive in it! then it would fly!

I bought my black macbook around a year and a half ago now. It's OK, cept for the fact the screen flickers every now and then and the fan goes off its brain. My laptop is dying before my very eyes. I've already been to the doctor twice about the screen problem (and numerous battery problems). The fact is apple dont produce perfect machines, they're just fucking amazing at marketing. My personal preference for a next computer is a Pro so it doesn't leave me that bitter, but I wouldn't buy another macbook. My audio card is FW, so if my current Macbook dies i got no choice. Besides, I could install XP and play some decent games for a change.
