Worlds largest record collection
I collect elvis collectors... I pin them on wooden boards like butterflies and other insects.Celltek wrote:A real collector doesnt really discriminate. for example an Elvis collecter will preserve an Elvis fart in a jar just because its just that...
Thats the charm of collecting IMO. You look at it and think, I would never do that but you can admire that person for willing to invest so much into it.
Secondly, whether the music is badly mastered or just plain bad i still think it should be preserved bacause its part of human culture, pop culture.. whatever you want to call it.
How about Sergey from Google or Bill Gates.. They could easily buy it and make it accessible to the world via the net.. The only problem is that it will have to be compressed
if you ever are in nyc and want to go record digging...

it never occurred to you that maybe not many people in the world can a) buy b) move c) store and d) deal with that many records?JackNine wrote:$50 million dollar appraisal selling for $3 million and still no offers. Know what that's called?
if you had three million laying around, would you buy it? and if so, tell me where, how, and when you'd move it and properly store it?
we all have a bit of this guy in us.
my parents have that Rolling Stones record sealed as well, I'm not very impressed...
If the archive is so important, why doesnt he get the library of congress or the smithsonian to digitize it? or at least get a Music University to purchase it and build it into a library.
probably because that most of that music is crap
I do wonder about all the undiscovered "Amen" Breaks amongst the collection however...
it could spawn a whole new genre of EDM
