my dad had these large wooden speakers from the 70's in the basement. very very sturdy and the depth and height of a computer desk.
we made a wooden top to put on top of the speakers, wide enough for my monitor and computer keyboard, a 4 unit rack case, my 16 channel mixer, monitors and a little extra space. the wooden piece secures perfectly over the wooden speakers and wouldn't slide if i wanted it to. underneath is enough room for the computer and guitar amps, pedals, and things not in use, but need easy access to. my midi keyboard sits on a keyboard stand to the right of me which is adjusted to the perfect height.
