Contexterrior issues the debut collaboration EP from Sierra Sam and Marcus Vector.

Following their productions on their own Belgium-based ToysForBoys and Nomor labels, Sam and Marcus join together for three tracks of mental, atmospheric techno on the Jump Rope EP.

Tracklist:
1. Jump Rope
2. Hop Scotch
3. Four Square

Sierra Sam and Marcus Vector have been friends for about five years, and
during that time have established three record labels, released numerous
tracks, thrown parties, and played throughout Europe with their live and DJ
sets. Belgium’s Sierra Sam is also closely tied to the Detroit techno
community, having spent extensive time there and co-producing with
Suburban Knight of Underground Resistance. In addition to a solo 12” for
Trapez, he has also released EPs in collaboration with Bloody Mary, one for
ToysForBoys and one for Einmaleins. He also holds down a quarterly
residency at Berlin’s Tresor. French-born, Brussells-based Marcus Vector first
established himself as a DJ but has more recently focused on the production
side of things, often collaborating with Lust Addict, including tracks for
Lesizmore’s digital imprint Playground.

Despite all this activity, the Jump Rope EP marks the first release these
guys have produced as a duo. The title track begins with a propulsive
skitter, and soon a dark but catchy melody looms into the foreground. Static
noises snap, crackle, and pop and fill the room with aural haze. “Hop
Scotch” is even darker, with a recurring distorted growl taking over the low
end of the audio spectrum, complementing the busy locusts that are
swarming within the high end. “Four Square” closes the EP, easily the
deepest, most hypnotic track here, with jittery percussive elements that get
marinated in reverb.
