Pro Tools help

Post by eryx666 »

Hi guys,
I would like to try Pro Tools on XP but I don't want to change my interface (Ultralite). Is there any way to make it easy? Can I bought cheap M-audio just for PT and make my sound still on Ultralite? Thx in advice

Nope, All PT versions are tied to the hardware. You have to use the M-Audio or Digi interface when running the app, and it cannot be made to talk to other interfaces.

you could buy a cheap m-audio card and use it as a dongle (tee hee) then record your parts in some other software, and mix your track in PT.

It's a bit silly but it would work.

you can try MBox 2 Micro.
but as someone that had MBox 2 and tried using PT, i can only say it has more limitation than benefits. the midi options suck and dont forget PT doesnt work with VST, so youll need to buy 'VST to RTAS'.
IMO, only Pro Tools HD is good, and that also only if you use TDM plugins.

Ive worked my audiophile 192 for three straight years about 4-5 hours a day on average and never had a single problem.
