thanks for everyone who've broken down the sound for me. some great techniques you guys have shared. going to try them all.
and no worries about the criticism, i'm not looking to make that exact exact sound, just wanted to learn about to how to go about it. and i thought i'd be more specific with what type of rising fx i was trying to achieve thus i posted 'total departure' in the subject to give everyone a better idea.

you easily get some continuously rising effects using the corkscrew plugin included in the Anarchy Effects pack...
