Last weekend @ DMZ Brixton London > Anti Social aka Quest & Silkie

They played THE set of the night, soulfull dubstep all the way, wicked!

Also D1 and Oneman played top notch sets.

Check them out if you can.

2562 well worth checking out! They have an album on beatport that's quite recent. Otherwise checkout Shackleton, in my opinion the king of dubstep.

2562 his album is idd very cool, same person as A Made Up Sound with releases on Philpot and SubSolo.

downhere you can find dj Pinch his set at Mary Anne Hobbs her show on BBC 1 somewhere in april 2007. Was normally ment to be broadcasted together with a Villalobos mix to show a bit the crossing between dubstep & techno.

DJ Pinch - the intersection between dubstep and techno

01. Pinch - Trauma - Tectonic
02. Digital Mystikz - Creeper - dub
03. Peverelist - The Grind - Punch Drunk
04. Headhunter - Quanta - Tempa
05. Starkey - Pins [Atki2 Architect Remix] - Dead Homies
06. Appleblim - Vansan - Skull Disko
07. 2562 - Channel Two - Tectonic
08. 2nd II None - Waterfalls - Heavy Artillery
09. Marc Ashken - Roots Dyed Dark [Skream remix] - Leftroom
10. Cyrus [Random Trio] - Dark Future - Tectonic
11. Pinch - Battered - Tectonic
12. Henry and Louis meets Blue and Red feat Tony Tuff - Answer [Pinch remix] - 2 Kings
13. Pinch - 136 Trek - Punch Drunk

Cheers

I had my Dubstep revelation last week at the Sub:Stance party at Berghain. They had Scuba, Mala, Distance, Shackleton, T++ ans Applebim there, and they had their super improved Berghain monster sound system and it was absolutely mindblowing! Nothing in electronic music made such an impression on my in a very long time.

These massive basses on that soundsystem - totally overwhelming! I thought I was breathing under water, every body hair sticking out in every possile direction, totally lost in the soundscapes!

And no, I didn't take anything at all and only drank mineral water, so it was the music alone. ;)

So today I went to Hardwax and bought Dubstep records for 130€!

Anyway, I can really recommend Scuba. He played the set of the night, and that means something concerning the line-up! Very eclectic, colourful mix of Dubstep and the weirder side of techno, building up to a point where he elt the floor totally explode! His productions are amazing too. Check out his "A Mutual Antipathy" LP on Hotflush. It fuses Dubstep with something in the British electronica sound of Plaid and stuff like that. Fantastic productions!
