The PUNKT EP demonstrates how they do geometry in a beautiful and fresh non-euclidean fashion deep down in shibuya!
a.1. PUNKT is an irresistible example of the hypnotic hip twitching water-crunk sound which is fast becoming one of minimood's trademarks. SHU weaves beautifully melancholic atmospherics around chiseled beats which seem to arise from the abyss before bubbling into the ether. An outstanding example of finest deep minimal designed to take full advantage of modern club systems PUNKT leaves you feeling energized and relaxed at the same time, and will leave no genuine minimalist indifferent!
b.1. STRICH is simply genius. SHU axes conventionalism, swinging his sword with samurai abandon through jazzy keys, percussive hits, vocal snippets, analog blurps……and then re-assembles them to devastating contemporary effect. Even as the track is just beginning to assert itself in true minimal mode, you can already tell something special is about to happen. Two minutes in and - BLAM! – the infectious bubbling synth bassline and piano melodies burst into the arena, laying the ground for some deep funky interaction. The track then continues to evolve in totally sublime and unpredictable ways which grab and leave you breathless in awe. Words do not even start to do this track justice – so just listen for yourself and see…!
