You are never at the end of learning when it comes to machinedrums. Start really digging into the LFOs and global settings. Those LFO's can control anything--including other LFO's. Think about that. It doesn't all have to be random either. If you spend the time thinking about all the possibilities, instead of focusing on playing live everytime you boot it up, you'll find plenty more to do with it. I remember hitting that wall with my MD, and I went through the manual again and started digging deeper. Hard work is rewarded, keep it up.

Yeah I agree w/ Leon Neon, there's a lot of depth to the MD. Start playing w/ some machines you haven't used much or at all and you'll have lots of new avenues to explore.

Yeah i know i can still discover loads on the MD, but i'm getting a bit tired (for now) of the MD itself, I want to do stuff with just simple synthesis for example, and not having to work around the inherent "percussiveness" of the MD to do cool dub sounds, for example. I know it's very clear when I explain it, but I think I'm gonna shift my focus to the nord for a bit, like I wanted to do it for the last few months but haven't got round to it

I think I'm again enjoying the MD on its own pretty much. I did this set on webcam yesterday, and I think it went pretty well. Here is a crappy recording of the last 40 minutes (the sound has no high end due to the webcam compression).

The flow is not so super tight because I was chatting at the same time and stuff, so sometimes a pattern loops a bit longer than it should. It has a few fuckups as well sometimes (two patterns clashing), but overall I think I got much better, and it's starting to sound like what I want it to sound like. Which means ever more work now that the basis is starting to get solid

As said, flw is a bit slow, but i'm starting to like the stuff. I tried to do more livetweaking of the instruments and of the delay.

Cool, I'll check it out tonight. Unfortunately I don't have my machinedrum anymore--I sold it to a cool Italian producer about a year ago. When I have the money I'm going to buy another one though, I really miss it. I had one of the first ones made, so it'll be nice to have a new one with all the new features and sampling. Any news on making some tracks?
