It's difficult to obtain a perfect quality by ripping a vinyl.

So it's a bit frustrating, cause I buy vinyls to support a label and because I need a physical copy to feel the music completely, but I can't listen to it with my "ipod", or I can't use it for a more "experimental" and "technical" set with ableton.

This idea of a code given to the buyer is really cool... but surely difficult to create.

Maybe recordshop could do it.

I mean, imagine a shop where, when you buy your vinyl, you can get them digitally, for example on a usb dongle.
Seeing that most vinyl shops are closing these days, I think this is a very good idea, and that the vinyl shops have the money or what ever it takes to do this thing
what do they need exept a computer with internet ?
Who should supply and pay for the files?
the label? the store? the distributor? the cleaning lady?
The distributor.

the story of providing a digital file with a vinyl already exists!

i bought an 12" kai alce ep: (http://www.discogs.com/release/1284788)

in the sleeve of the 12" was a small flyer from the label self, with a unique code on it and an url on it. from this site, I was able to download all the tracks from the ep with this code. i was able to download the tracks only once.

nice, ain't it? :D

SUPER nice...

I wish all labels could do that. Perhaps one day.

i think you can have secondary copies of things you've bought for backup purposes.
