[LDN] 17-05 - Octave One, Ewan Pearson, Matthias Tanzmann...

We continue our no corners cut/all or nothing policy and throw one final party in this series of four before taking a short break. With 3 acts on the line-up that many would use as standalone headliners, we carry on down the path of putting on big names away from the big clubs.

Perfect for seeing quality acts up close and personal, Corsica Studios is an intimate warehouse sandwiched between a number of brick railway arches. The space always has at least two rooms, a large semi-covered outdoor terrace and Funktion 1 sound systems throughout.

You can forget queuing systems to go outside for a smoke, large characterless rooms, overcrowding and over priced drinks … it’s clubbing without over regulation, where you can come and properly let go… it’s clubbing the way it’s supposed to be. From Joe Bloggs to Derrick Carter everyone who sees this venue loves it. It’s relatively fresh and unspoilt which always makes for a top atmosphere. Just don’t be the last to discover!

Located Just 2 minutes Behind Elephant and Castle Tube Station (Zone 1 – Northern/ Bakerloo Line) it’s Easily Accessible.

About the Acts:

Probably our biggest booking so far, Octave One, headed by Detroit's Burden Brothers, bring their live show to London for this special intimate gig. Octave One play totally live, no laptops involved, strictly hardware… synths, drums, effect machines and so on. The word ‘legend’ is banded about a bit too frequently these days, but for once there’s no second thought given when we say to see these legends in such an intimate venue is going to be something truly special. We can’t get through the list of everything they’ve been involved with but for more info from Underground Resistance to Blackwater check out the videos, photos and blurb on www.myspace.com/octaveone & www.octaveone.com (Especially the Slices Videos :) )

Also heading the bill is Moon Harbour founder, Poker Flat extraordinaire and Circo Loco resident, Matthias Tanzmann, who with his productions and live sets always maintains the focus on groove and dance floor orientation. Dance music’s meant to make you dance right?! Matthias plays a long 3 hour set for us on the night. www.myspace.com/matthiastanzmann

And as if that wasn’t enough also headlining our May event is the brilliant Ewan Pearson of Kompakt and Soma Records, playing an Exclusive 4 Hour Set over Corsica’s super system. www.myspace.com/ewanpearson

Further support will come in the form of Lakuti who founded record label Süd Electronic in 2002 alongside Bodycode (AKA Portable). The label’s output has been supported by artists such as Ricardo Villalobos, Richie Hawtin, Rolando and many more, whilst Süd events have introduced many artists to London audiences with past guests including Dan Bell, Alex Under, Audio Werner, Jay Haze and Juan Atkins amongst others.

The night also features Acid Casuals DJs PAPS (AKA Cian Ciaran of the Super Furry Animals), Mark James and Matt Sawyer who in-between busy schedules have found time to produce strongly supported tracks (Richie Hawtin, Josh Wink and Co) released on major techno labels such as Novamute and Below.
