I think there is too much available on beatport these days, already allot of mixes are soo boring cuz everyone can get the same oldskool or unknown good records. I know allot of people see this as a good thing but for me it's going more of a bad way. just my 2 cents..
whether it's good or bad, we could debate all day, the fact of the matter is, it's happening and will happen even more as time goes on.

just going through the back catalogue now on beatport and theres quite a bit ive not heard before which is sounding , i now have to agree, if i'd sweat blood and tears searching for the rare wax then saw it all be available by one click i'd be kinda pissed off also!

So you're angry that these songs are being made available for more people to enjoy? Or you're just angry because your vinyl isn't worth as much?

I don't understand the mentality that a lot of DJ's have about going digital. Songs are getting ripped from vinyl to digital whether they like it or not. Releasing them with proper digital masters allow people like me to enjoy and support these tracks without turning to illegal downloads.

Jacknine,

Well, what i said was more from a DJ point of view.. off course im happy for the people still making money off it after all these years altho the last records arent that old. What im trying to say is that this is one aspect (releasing original hard to find wax ) is one of the hounderd things that is working with the downside of techno (mnml?). Now everyone can access these records & sets will get even more bored now, you could say cabinet will be commercialised around more of the dj's.. off course it won't lose it's touch tho. Im having a hard time explaining what i'm feeling here so you probably wont understand what im saying, but it all comes down to how much i used to love beatport back when it started & now when everything comes digital even newbie dj's can put together sets people have been working & finding for for months.. then i'm asking myself what is the diffrence between them ? experience? I noticed that in this century its all about knowing people.. off course everyone knows this. :) For me this is putting experienced ppl back & upfronting newbies to the same level.
I'm gonna stop now cuz primevil is right, we can debate all day but it won't stop a thing.

And im changing the subject too so :)
I can go on about this all day long & there are also too many points of view about this.
I knew cabinet records was coming digital for a year alryd but i didn't know it hurt that much :D

I have LOTS of the original cabinet vinyl... so I feel I can speak on this matter... ..... it's all about presentation..

you can give the exact same records to 5 different djs ...and they will all have different sets.... the entire matching 4/4 beats create a melody (together) that makes the set unique... so it's the dj's perspective that creates the groove..not the single records them selfs... but the thoughts behind the approach.. everyone is unique and different as individual souls..

not based on the single records they have. * or (now) access to once out of print matieral

for every chance someone gets to obtain that is another chance for you to obtain more arsenal for your own sets as well.
