you're talking about a style called "futurism" which was big before the millenium. it wasnt just techno, other genres incorporated futurism elements. what happened was, the future finally showed up, we're in the future now, and now the music doesn't fit. it only worked in the past when we looked forward to the future. now that we're here it doesn't have the same appeal.Red Kite wrote:In 1996 people talked about techno as it would be part of the future; futuristic music.
