Kick Trip

Post by WYRL »

Try this for some interesting kicks .I'm using battery for my kicks but i'm sure any good sampler should work.Set up your velocity modulation to control your volume envelope attack instead of volume for some wicked transient coolness that you can program in! Really gives your kicks more feel and is a great way to emulate compression without the unwanted side effects.

are you playing your kicks by hand on the keyboard as the track goes? because if you arent, i dont see much sense in routing velocity to modulate anything...

but then again, why make it easy when you can have it complicated :D

usually by hand then fine tune afterwards. Not really a shlep .I like using velocity to control lots of different parameters especially using drum samples

the problem with randomizing plugins is, that if you dont record the randomness, your track will sound, well, random each time you play it. ;)
so the track you make today will sound different tomorrow.
