While you're in the States you might as well tweek your plans a bit.
Partly because I've already booked everything for the schedule above and partly cos I have no ambition to do the WMC. Would rather do Fuse-In/DEMF in Detroit or even Coachella.
WMC = DEMF x 100000000000000000000
DEMF > WMC x 1000000000000000000000000000000!

WMC is now spring break for anyone who has ever heard but not necesarily grasped electronic music. I live less than four hours from Miami & you couldn't get me near there during the WMC. Now, during it's early years, when it was actually a conference for the sharing of ideas & actually learning something, the WMC was well worth it. Now, it's just a extremely overpriced smooze fest.

Couldn't agree with you more! The DEMF is a much more quality event with a more knowledgeable crowd, IMO. In addition, obviously the better choice if you want to get your fill of techno/minimal.

no way dude!!! WMC > DEMF x 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

you're in florida too? cool! i dont know man i liked WMC better than DEMF, last year anyway. its wayyyy bigger, more variety of music, the women are sexier, SOUTH BEACH, topless women, world class designer fashion, pool parties, rooftop parties, you get to talk in person to top djs of the world, the city itself is amazing.

DEMF is all techno techno techno ugh i got tired of it. WMC has techno too, and its just as good as the techno at DEMF. yes WMC is not what it used to be, but its still awesome. all the dedicated people congregate here. all the labels all have their own parties at the hotels so people that share the same exact specific taste come together and its great.

WMC and DEMF are two completely different things. If you're making broad comparisons you may as well compare WMC or DEMF to Coachella or Bonnaro, cause they have just as many wasted people and some electronic music.

I've never done WMC, but demf is not to be missed if you truly love techno!

I also plan my year around this event and every year I am surprised at the people I meet, the music I hear and the madcap Detroit situations that I find myself in.

I'm sure WMC is better if you like "industry showcases", care if you are "on the list" and want to look at topless babes. Nothing wrong if that's your scene.
