deep dub chord

Post by loureed »

I don't think I need to post a sample or anything, classic.

it's probably pretty basic but how? I've gotten as far as sinewave+delay.

Keep trying untill you manage to generate an organ sound.
Drop the idea of becoming someone else, because you are already a masterpiece.

But if you know off hand, what ensembles are you referring to?

Go through your synth's presets and try the rhodes, clav, dulcimer, piano, organ and brass presets. Most synths will have something close to the sound you're looking for.

As briobox said, Reaktor has some ensembles with these sorts of sounds. 'Titan', 'Carbon' and Kaleidon' have a bunch of ready-made chord presets. They're all labelled 'CH' and they'll sound familiar cos everyone seems to be using them.

If you're more into making your own sounds but not too musical you can always do what I do: transcribe the intervals from the reaktor presets and use them with your own synths.

If you're not sure what intervals to use, try 0, +2 +3 +7.

screw presets, read your manual, mess around with a few chords till you get what you want, filter down.
