Outstanding track : operator - redemption song (scandinavia)
Gotta give a special shout to Christian vogel, his never engine outing on tresor p@sses over most of the 'minimal' style stuff I've heard so far this year. a lot of which I've found to be quite weak and generic sounding - this EP in my opinion takes it back to where it came from and does it right.
Being fair - I've not heard every minimal record going and that's not to say some haven't been great, but I feel christian has got it bang on the nail with this stuff and it's definately my preffered line of attack
disapointment of the year : kode-9 and modeselektor for producing some naff stuff when they could do much better.
Strangest track which shouldn't work but somehow does :
Jamie woon - wayfaring stranger - burial mix - somehow he's made Jamie woon sound like craig david, it's weird, but it works
