laptops for producing

After having a lot of trouble with my previous laptop and his comptability with digidesign's "mbox" i m searching for a new one.

i was looking at the new sonoma laptops which have great specs and speed
but i still dont know if my mbox will work with this new technology and i'm waiting for an answer from digidesign but leaving this aside!

I just want a good laptop which has more than an hour battery (so no p4)

What would you guys recommend or what laptop are you working with ??

They are a bit more expensive (it's really not that much these days), but I think the reliability, ease-of-use, and general quality makes them well worth the price.

but i was searching for a laptop (for windows) not a mac

About the powerbook, if you read the ableton live forum , there is a benchmark test (mac and pc) and the powerbook is outperformed by certain laptops. So i dont know if this still is the best choice (untill the g5 laptops come out:)

i dont wanna start a mac vs pc thread, its just smth i noticed

why not a powerbook? You get a secondhand powerbook G4 for +-600 a 700 euro. I think that is worth the money.

By ableton they recommed a MAC?
