Hey guys. Instead of some single threads about single tools i thought it might be good to open a thread about "Musthaves". Maybe this could even become a sticky depending on how well it goes.
Its prolly gonna be quiet subjective and what i dont want is a "this is better than this"-discussion. so please stay positive
So heres the idea. I believe there are people out there that are overwhelmed by the masses of stuff that u can possibly use. To make live easier i think its good to hear some personally oppinions and experiences that people have made with all the tools.
i hope its a good idea.
I myself cannot say anything at the moment. I was bound to a lowbandwidth in the past and couldnt really research on all the stuff.
However i will so in the future and that was my inspiration for this thread
Must Have Producing Tools
reason is fine for me...i only need nuendo or ableton for adding quality fx.
let's say that you could use wavearts or tc electronics for a good reverb.
nuendo or cubase for sequencing and rekording.
battery or linplug IV drummachine for rhythm making.
etc.

Drop the idea of becoming someone else, because you are already a masterpiece.
production - ableton live4
http://www.ableton.com/
mixdown/editing - pro tools
http://www.digidesign.com/
crazy efx - grm tools
http://www.grmtools.org/
pristine dynamic plugins - waves
http://www.waves.com/
this is my list...no software has assisted me in making techno exactly
how i wanted to like live4 has. i know alot of people hate digidesign...
but i have not found another program that can produce such clean results.
last i checked, all audio is handled internally at 56bits...so if you know
anything about reducing quantization errors, this makes you smile.
the routing options and ease of use makes for quick work...i have been
trained in cubase and nuendo...and pro tools was a fast choice for me.
