Hi,
I have a mixing table and two technics and I'm planning to buy serato.
Is this the best choice??
Can I still use my technics to spin normal vinyls without the computer on or without deconnecting the hardware?
Can I route the sound of the vinyl true the computer to add some effects?
And are these effects sync?
thnx
serato/ NI traktor scratch/final scratch ???
+1 for serato here.
I owned Traktor, and even if the built in effects are quite fun to play with, You can do pretty much the same with Serato.
Maybe save some moneyand get the TT57SL this one is a mixing table with seato integrated and nuilt in effects.

if you want to use efx, you might want to consider Traktor Scratch, and then upgrade the software to Traktor 3.3. Not only do you have control over 4 decks that way, but you also have the EFX thatr are built-in and I think that Traktor 3 also supports VST efx plugins.
As for your question if you can play regular vinyls without the PC connected: I know this is absolutely possible with traktor Scratch (the phono signal is rerouted in the special cables) , but I think it's also possible with Serato as long as you don't disconnect the unit.

You can spin normal vinyls with serato as long as the SL1 box has power... either from your computer or from external power
if you're used to playing vinyl normally then Serato is going to suit you down to the ground. It feels almost exactly like vinyl
i'd personally get yourself an external fx unit rather than worry with doing it all in the computer... less stress on the computer the less likely to crash
also the last time i used traktor the keylock on it sounds hideous.
