If you want minimal loops try making a percussion loop, then add a bass then add a stab or something with reverb, then some glitchy sounds then some kind of automated effect on some of the above.

Then loop it.

Unless we're talking wavetable synthesis. Now these are tiny loops.

point is man if your gonna rely on someone elses loops to make you sound like you got the funk and u know what youre doing, then you might as well get off the next exit and find some other hobby you want to immitate.

If you are starting to make music now, and want to use some loops, I'd recommend you to use Stylus RMX, so u can have more control over the loops and understand better the structure of it.
To make it minimal, listen to your favourite minimal producers, and try to realize how they do that, research here in this very forum, your are going to find some useful infos. It's all about practice, but after while, don't stick to the loop because your music will lack of creativity and identity.
