Yeah do it 5.1 sound is the future for all music. BT - This binary universe is un-fucking-believable in 5.1, listening to drums start at the front then roll to the back, ahhhhh!!!!
It would be really cool to eventually have 5.1 in clubs but i dont know how it would be done.

Pheek, did you ever get anywhere with this 5.1 project?
My production crew has done three events out here in Vancouver
with 5.1 sound, two indoors and 1 outdoors. My friend Matte (Nystagmus/Anahata) finished a progressive psy album in 5.1 last summer and we have done some shows with it. Definitely interested in getting more artists using this technology out to the west coast, so let me know how your making out.
Fyi, all though 5.1 seems like some thing not particularly suited for
anything but the living room I for one can attest that everyone should
think otherwise. There are obviously some in's and out's to it, somewhat
complicated sound set up, limited dance floor "sweet spot", and a more lengthy production process. But seriously once you hear it, its all worth it! To be honest the 2 shows indoors worked pretty well, but where it sparkled
was the outdoor show we did at last years Entheos 5 festival www.entheosgathering.com. Seriously one of the most transcendent musical experiences I have ever experienced. It was our first attempt at making this work, and there really wasnt too much to it. It simplifies things if you use self powered speakers. I own an RCF 4Pro sound system, all self powered. We used 3 18inch subs and 2, 3 way tops for both the left and right front stacks. Then single 3 way speakers for both the centre and
rear surround speakers. The thing with 5.1 is you dont need tons of sound
for the surround and center channels, your front stereo stacks are
still your big mains, the others are just for effects... and no subs should
be used for center or rear channels. You must also chain all of the subs
to one channel as when producing in 5.1 all sub freq are dedicated to
a single channel. Then basically you run a single signal from each of the artists 6 channels to each speaker stack, with sound processing in line and you've got 5.1 sound. You also need to measure distances from the speakers and calculate and implement time delay so that your "sweet spot" is actually in the middle of the room. When you get things up and running you still get great surround effects from a fairly large section of the dance floor, but from i've experienced so far the more minimal the music, the better the surround experience will be from a wider range of area on the dance floor. Music that is really busy tends to minimize the space where the full surround experience can be appreciated on the floor ie. if there are surround
effects coming from the right channels and you are on the left side
of the room and you have tons of separate sounds they will drown out
the right side effects. So yeah, minimal + 5.1 = good. By no means
would I consider myself an expert in this all but we're making it happen and learning the ropes....and it
sounds freaking incredible! Matte's album should be out later in the
year on Area709 records, probably not up everyones alley on this forum
being trance and all but if you see it give it a listen, its a mind bender.
So Pheek, if and when you get something together perhaps we could
work on getting you out this way, Matte and I are working on some
new 5.1 stuff together hoping to have a sets worth in time for summer.
