My interest in minimal started when a friend introduced me to some detroit techno. I fell in love with the sound and started digging deeper until I heard Alter Ego's Rocker at a party here in Toronto. Took me long enough to figure out the name of the song (the DJ only knew the artist, there was nothing else printed on the record's label). That's when I fell in love with the German sound. Now I'm getting the production itch but being a poor student makes it hard (but not impossible) to get started. The biggest problem here is that no one I know is into production and everyone's listening to music I can't listen to. If it's not the same old house or trance it's the worst of drum and bass. I'm sure I just haven't looked in all the right places, but I figure here's a good start for now.
