Listen to the man, layering is the key. Layer one shorter, punchier kick, and one deeper and wider. Eq, compress, and voila!

That's the basics of course, usually you have to add more layers, analyze the frequencies, and get really into it. And use your ears of course.

in the end it's all about ears. if it sounds right, it is right. i don't fuss around with analyzers too much. big, flat monitors and a nice treated room are the best tools.

keep it as simple as possbile is my motto

Those kicks/Bass from minilogue sound pretty good! It also think by adding layers to a kick and play with it you can find a pretty good sound that is almost the same like the kicks from minilogue.

Are they really using a TB-303 for kick sounds? Which track would that be?
I've never managed to make a kick out of my 303's.

don't know about minilogues kick but the idea of using kicks and 303s got me inspired to make something simple. :)

Sounds cool! You can never get enough of the 303!
Now, do a kick sound with the 303, hehe.

layering kicks is the best. I ussually use two or three kicks layered into one. find the best frequencies from multiple kicks and filter em into one.
