ARTIST: Dan Curtin / Various Artists
TITLE: Mindin Business Part 2: Interstellar Groove Addictions
LABEL: Tuning Spork Records
CAT#: TSCD03
DISTRIBUTION: Intergroove

In the global dance community, Dan Curtin can be considered a living legend, in that he is constantly evolving artistically while building on the respect he has established over the past 15 years. His early low-profile techno releases paved the way for work for Strictly Rhythm and Peacefrog, and soon the start of his own label Metamorphic Recordings (responsible for the very first Morgan Geist 12” in 1994). Over time as his sound has shifted into a house-ier territory, he has released on Dust Science and Klang Elektronik, and is now a member of the Tuning Spork family.

Dan Curtin was the perfect choice to curate the new Mindin Business mix CD. In fact Dan's style is so raw that we decided to give him two CDs to fit all the fucked up acid house and sharp minimal grooves he wanted to include. Unlike Jay Haze’s Mindin Business Part 1 from last year, this mix features tracks from outside the Tuning Spork family, but of course Dan maintains the very highest standard in his selections for the uncontrolled explosion that is this double-disc set. You can hear from the beginning of Disc 1 that Dan doesn't waste any time in getting things moving. In fact, Dan is cramming more tracks into one mix here than most people would fit in over a few hours. Tracks from Delsin sit alongside Spork hits like Dan's own "Blowhard". Pan-Pot's latest Mobilee jam appears in edited form along with tracks and remixes from Michal Ho, Guido Schneider, Renato Figoli, DJ 3000, Onur Özer, and Italoboyz. But perhaps the most enticing of all are the unreleased tracks from Jay Haze AKA Fuckpony.

Mindin Business Part 2: Interstellar Groove Addictions is a real life manifesto of the Tuning Spork house sound: rough, raw and unhinged. And it's all mixed together at a breakneck pace by a true marvel, Mr. Dan Curtin. Play this in your cars with the windows down, while driving by your office angrily on the weekend. Play it at your apartment until the neighbors below and above bang on the floors, then invite them in for an impromptu rave. Hell, we don't mind where you play it, just realize that this mix is the nightclub distilled into a round compact disc, ready to be unleashed whenever and wherever you want! Enjoy Mindin Business and remember, this is just one of the ways in which we at Tuning Spork love and care for you!
