Being a huge fan of Brett Easton Ellis and his notorious yuppie psycho character Patrick Bateman I felt obliged to investigate his namesake out of morbid fascination if nothing else. Unfortunately, the Huey Lewis-loving murderer hasn't gone into dance production, but instead is a Danish techno dude who has developed a mean line in ahem, killer minimal synth-wave. The title track is awash with moody, haunting atmospherics and is given a galloping clippity-clop once over in the Massi DL's Acid Tears mix. My favourite track has to be Walk Through The Sky: a dark trance epic like Jan Hammer on downers.
