i think youre wrong. shouldnt it just come down to personal preference? I dont 'get' ricardo's latest stuff or his dj sets but i dont think im in the wrong subgenre. its just that i happen to like a different kind of minimal sound. different strokes for different folks....mkoy wrote:villalobos is a master...a risk taker, the best thing that has happened to techno in at least the last 5 years. if you like minimal and you dont get villalobos then your in the wrong subgenre. the techno world is bigger than one dj set and a few less than perfect releases and if you get it that means you've been paying attention and minimal music is all about paying attention...active yet passive attention!

I've just read that HF interview.
I don't like his vision on "organic" sound.
It is very limited vision.
Why all good stuff has to be "organic" and "acoustic"?
Then Kraftwerk is a sh!t??
JPLS is just another newest crap?
what's Raster-Noton then? Definitely they're not from south america, so they just can't understand what is music about??
He's extremely successful yet he's not David Guetta.
so I can imagine that he has definitely something.
But I'm afriad about a big star like him talkin' in that way,
"oh, sound design is over, dance is organic music...etc."
I prefer that he says he's style is organic, warm sound and he does it very good.
8 pages of comments and love letters...I see that he's huge influence here.
But Richie Hawtin does even more, however I never saw him imposing his point of view in an interview... (though i was bitchin' a lot on him and m-nus in this forum..hehe )

Richie is a far more 'talented' artist and dj.
No disrespect to Villa but Richie's in another league altogether.
Richie Hawtin
Jeff Mills
Dave Clarke
Derrick May
Surgeon
that's my top 5 fav dj's right now.
