As far as soundcards go, i am infinitely happy with my MOTU 828 II. It's FireWire, has 24 ins and outs that can be used simultaneously and can be had used for under $500 (US). Brilliant.

I have just switched from Reason too Cubase. Bought myself a copy of Reaktor, but its proper hard. Im looking for nice deep house sounds, along the lines of matthias tanzman, samin etc... can anyone reccomend one of the synths that could create the sort of sounds this guys create.

Also got massive/fm8 too but would prefer to stay within reaktor

Reaktor scares and confuses me!
I'm not all that good with synth stuff to begin with and reaktor just seems to be a really complicated, over-bearing product.
I haven't really looked at it because i thought it was solely a synth building program, but apparently you can just use it as a normal plug and load the ensembles you want to use.
Gawd ... does my head in.

just really getting into reaktor again now....used the first version for a while and loved it, v5 seems to be a HUGE improvement...and the sound quality is amazing :)

mark me down as another believer :)

reaktor 5 is just the best software u can buy right now!

the sound quality is unequalled.

just start programming carbon2 or titan (from electronic instruments vol.1) and prepare to be amazed.
