it's awesome actually, perfect if you really wanna freak out with drums and percussions. its really fast to work with to. trackers (Y).

as always its the creativity that makes the tracks, not the software.

i'm actually using ableton for everything.
i really like the workflow and the fact that i can develop my ideas in a really short time.
but i have to say that audio quality sucks.
i'm now considering other options for production.... maybe back to hardware and then import the recorded tracks in a sequencer...

disable warping and audio quality will be exactly the same as in other applications.

i don't use timestretch on recorded files... but it still sounds like "an old stinky shoe"....

i know that using timestretch reduces audio quality, and this issue has been discussed looooong here and in the ableton board, with different opinions... mine is that the deepth is failing in recordings made with ableton live (even with an rme multiface)

I don't have this problem.

Are you sure you've disabled warping on all your recorded clips?

I've set warping to default on repitch, because it's the only mode that doesn't change audio quality when the bpm of the clip and the song is the same (ableton should fix this ! ).

i thought that if i didn't use timestretch (i mean any tempo changes), or groove changes (i mean swing)
i would not impact the sound quality...

Unfortunately that's true only if you use repitch (and beats maybe, but I'm not sure).

A stupid thing IMO, but it's like that.
Ableton should make this more evident.
