Junkbeats producer Dave Basek and his Australian band 20for7 have won the “Dance Floor” category in France’s premier contemporary electronic music awards the Qwartz Awards 2007.
20for7’s single “Ripple Effect” released on French based label Chocoflash took out the award from the 12 nominated singles in the “Dance Floor” category.
Over two million people worldwide visited the Qwartz website to register their votes in a range of categories. Votes came from over 80 countries in Asia, North and Central America, the Caribbean, South America and Europe, with 25% of visitors from France.
20for7’s single “Ripple Effect” was produced by Junkbeats’ Dave Basek. 20for7 consists of band members Dave Basek (beats and dub), Caroline Sommers (vocals), Jimi Polar (Rhodes & Synths), Simon Baker (Bass), Slade Gibson, Sean Sol R (Guitar & Vox).
