I'll put in another vote for MOTU. I have an 828mkII, and it rules.
i require more bass.

maybe to someone releasing records on m_nus sure... but to a novice i will have to disagree. if you are just starting out the m-audio price is right. why spend a load of money on a sound card if you are just getting started? your gear can advance with your skill.jpls wrote:stay away from m audio...pure sht.
i feel the same way when people say fl studio sucks... i ask "sucks compared to what" and people will say Cubase. well I certainly hope that a $200 application pales in comparison to a $999.99 (of course the person making this statement usually pirated both).
so... what i could have said much more simply:
m-audio is ok for the money if you are broke. they work. they are better than your on board. but the fact that m-audio products can be purchased at best buy should point to their toyish nature. of course what does my novice ass know.

I have nothing but problems with maudio.
The RME is definetly the best sh!t.
I'm running some ECHO stuff, used the old GINA 24 and the indigo IO on the laptop. Too me they have been solid. but i'm actually thinking of upgrading to something with a little more beef.
