Producing With Minimal

Post by sparticus_lives »

I'm fine producing and developing my own sound, with a lame computer I brought 3 years ago, 2.1 sound system, a webcam as a mic (samples), Ableton and Audacity... I'm happy, confident and learning new stuff everyday...

Anybody else with such a low set up getting any results... :?:

Midi Controller To Make It More Practical Would Be Great

I worked for years with a system simpler than that. I grew up in the tracker scene, and spent years armed with nothing but a Gravis Ultrasound MAX and a copy of Impulse Tracker. It's really all about what you do with what you're given.
i require more bass.

i use a machinedrum uw and audacity. pretty stripped down but it keeps me out of trouble. renoise and ableton live will be purchased shortly though. just for the sake of some different sequencing methods and live should help me get a cleaner mixdown than just using machiney like i am now.

I joined forces with a friend of mine, so last week in my studio I had at disposal:
juno 60
juno 106
arp axxe
arp odissey
korg ms20 w/sequencer
+ all my stuff

all the synths I always dreamt about.

mind you, sunday I spent the whole fucking day in the studio surrounded by all these machines and NOT A SINGLE NOTE!
Not even a couple of sounds worth saving.

So it's really not the gear you have...

sh!t i know people who made great techno records that people still buy with nothing but a 4 track reel to reel and a Korg Mono/Poly

it's about the man, not the machine
unless your Kraftwerk, then its about the man-machine

one of the best things ive ever heard, my mate did with a couple of sounds on an old emu 8-bit sampler banged through an old 1940's valve radio that had a ripped speaker, miked up and recorded onto a metal cassette.
