yes i am...

i actually did a test on it before

i setup up one audio track with a stereo sample and panned it left and right then exported the audio. saved the set then reopened it and it was fine.

so it may not be exporting it thats changing my sound.

it usually is happening when i have quite a few tracks with different pans. everything will be working i will save it and come back to it and the panning isnt working, just making sounds quieter and almost non existent when panned right

i must be doing somthing thats disabling the paning but i dont know what.

So yeah... Panning goes pretty deep. Ableton does not pan the way I like. It just lowers the Left or Right to "pan" as compared to moving the sound.

Here is an awesome article on Panning in Ableton Live and how to use different Panning Laws with Utility.

For panning in ableton I use this stereo tool from flux. Works like a charm.

I don't have any solutions to add but I'm a big believer of using mono samples and sound sources for almost everything. Stereo effects and layering/duplicating specific sounds, panning them, then offsetting them by numerous methods produces a stereo effect if I want it but I find it works a lot better in every way, from potential phase issues to a more focussed and spacious mix.
