Trendy Mullet Recordings are delighted to present Luke Solomon, who is taking time out from his Classic Is Your Friend tour to play a very intimate gig for the Launch of Shlonc.
Luke Solomon is undeniably one of British house music's unsung heroes, with an impressive track record of underground success. From setting up the seminal label Classic Recordings with Derrick Carter to taking quirky house to the UK Top 10 and international charts, with his band Freaks, Luke has been there for many of the more interesting 4/4 moments of the last decade.
Expect an evening of quirky musical treats featuring the true house sound and so much more spread over two rooms of this 250 capacity venue. Playing alongside Luke on the night will be; Kamo, The Quirk Burglars (Drew Tempest & Matt Quirk), Idle Hands, Ben Russell & 4 Beat Club.
Kamo are our tip for producers to watch out for as we enter into the tail end of 2011. Niall & Liam are two Aussie brothers with a penchant for making proper late night wobbly house music that explodes with influences from funk, jazz, garage, hip hop and a little Mr Scruff! (Well they are based in Manchester). It's pretty impossible to pin down their exact sound however these guys are killing it at the moment with EPs out on Trendy Mullet, Losing Suki and a forthcoming remix of Luke Solomon's Inceptor single dropping on Classic Recordings in late September.
