Miami Beach, FL – Mindshake, the brainchild and creative outlet of famed Spanish DJ/Producer Paco Osuna, relaunches in Miami 2011 with a new two-part Various Artist EP to follow, ‘Forward’ and ‘Forward: Part II’. The new beginning for the label will be a showcase event of the Mindshake experience at the world famous Shine nightclub featuring Paco Osuna, Victor Calderone, Alex Under, Carlo Lio, Dela and visuals by CPU. Shine is located within the historic Shelborne Resort Hotel and the event occurs during the week of the Ultra Music Festival on Wednesday, March 23rd, doors open from 10 pm to 5 am. The ‘Forward’ two part EP will be released on the heels of the Miami showcase event. The artists featured on the release will also be headlining the Miami event as an extension of the ongoing Mindshake World Tour.
The internationally globe-trotting DJ, producer and label head Paco Osuna headlines the Mindshake Showcase where his blistering decks and efx set will take center stage. In addition to cultivating the Mindshake family, Osuna continues to find time between his hectic DJ schedule to release and remix on labels such as M_nus, Spectral Sound, 100% Pure, Plus 8 and many more.
Alongside Osuna, the event features the talent of American Victor Calderone who understands the importance of continually evolving as an artist and as such was inspired to join the Mindshake family. Relying less on the tribal sound that dominated many of his past performances, Victor has reinvented his musical style and now treats listeners to an edgier, more techy and underground sound.
Rounding out the headline performances is Spain’s own Alex Under and Canada’s Carlo Lio. Alex Under’s output continues to impress with releases on esteemed labels such as Trapez, Plus 8 and now Mindshake. In addition, he was a founder of the Net28 family of labels which includes CMYK, Apnea, and Cyclical Tracks; labels which showcase his hypnotic style of mind-altering techno.
Carlo Lio represents the new breed of talent Mindshake is set to show off to a wider audience. Lio’s signature style is driven by a relentless, sexy, deep, pulsing, techy groove that is backed by flawless and imaginative mixing and mind-blowing programming, elements that can also be found in his productions for Mindshake and his own Rawthentic Music label, among others.
Completing the line-up will be Osuna’s Mindshake label partner and up-and-comer, Dela. In addition to managing the Spanish label, the American also heads up the US-based Projekt International nameplate and is known to favor a signature deep and percussive tech-house soundscape.
The Mindshake Showcase experience is made complete with a total sensory immersion through the help of US-based renowned visual artist CPU (CyberPatrolUnit), aka VJ Bryant Place. In addition to high profile work with Black Eyed Peas, M.I.A., Kanye West, and Hans Zimmer, CPU works with theunderground Southern California techno crew Droid Behavior, for whom he has developed highly specialized audio-visualization systems. He also recently toured with Richie Hawtin’s acclaimed Plastikman Live show in Europe where he ran the visual system.
