Renowned kingpin of Chicago’s modern afterhours scene, Max Jacobson puts it down for this month’s episode of Sordid Culture. Originally hailing from Detroit, Max made his move to Chicago back in 2007 in search of new opportunities. He first started making a name for himself in Chicago by performing his dark and groovy minimal techno live sets at local clubs. While his audience grew exponentially, his first track dropped on Klectik a year later at age 21. Since then, he has become one of the most reputable local Producer and underground DJ in town. Today, Max has over 14 releases on labels such as Akbal and Fresh Meat among many others, and has performed in Berlin, Tel Aviv, and Mexico. Keep an eye out for his upcoming collaboration release with Ari Frank on Snubb records featuring 2 hot remixes by Pawas and Mark Chambers. We like to think that Episode 21 captures Max’s signature sound and showcases a lot of what he’s been playing this year.
