So, as I look through this tracklist, I remember trying to get further and further away from deep house, while trying to discover more of the "techier" sounds with the same type of groove.
These "techier" sounds were actually new (TO ME) at this point, and hadn't necessarily become ubiquitous in this scene. However, you'll notice that I was still discovering great music, and relied heavily on the staples of that time - labels such as Dessous, Trapez, Substatic, and Force Inc. You'll also notice that towards the end of the mix, I regressed back to my comfort zone of tech house - but it still fit together fairly nicely.
Records like the Parotic Music record are still the ones I'm psyched to play. Completely hard to find, gems (on vinyl) that you'll never find on current top tens or digital download sites. If you were one of the lucky ones to discover this record in the shop when it came out, then you're probably only one of a few hundred to have it.
Apparently, I was in love with Seek and Destroy since it made it on two consecutive mixes
