first time i saw hawtin was at the end in london and he finished his set with this with tht lil louis 'i called u' acapella and it completely blew me away. id even go as far as to say it was a life changing moment for me can't really articulate why, was just one of those unexplainable special moments u get every once in a while when a dj does something really special, but if anyone knows it a pm with the title (i get the impression that this one is probably a well guarded secret) would mean a lot :D

thanks
haha yes mate....life changing is those moments he does every once in a while, and that last 20mins at the end was one of them...fuckin ridiculous standard. this set is dope tho, was always one of my fav recorded sets of him. special times that was

First time I saw Hawtin was at Limelight in NYC. sh!t was ill. I was fucked up and it looked like dude was bouncin back and forth while he was spinnin. He really looked like Plasticman to me. Dj superhero, but anyways, his musik blew me away. First hearing him was through decks, effects, and 909. I still listen to that cd. I also heard him at South St. Seaport along with Hipp-e and Halo, he came on after them and spun for like 7 hours. I remember saying his musik sounds like rubber inside of water. lol. Hilarious, had a hell of a time. Always have alot of fun hearin him spin or perform.....to bad he barely comes to NYC anymore. He is by far on my top 5 dj/performers. My favorite track on this mix is the one that comes in at 1:29:50 in part 1, goes for a few minutes, that sh!t is real fuckin dope man! Best part, 1:32:50.

You know what I love most about this is it feels so natural, no serato, no traktor, no sh!t, just dudes having a good time with records.

Dj sets have changed so much in the past couple of years and I think I miss these good times sets.
