Laurent Garnier – “lovelyyyyyy will play for sure”
Luke Solomon – “liking this a lot”
SCOPE – “lovin the deep and techy vibes of the original. Will play for sure”
Onionz – “The Balance is excellent. You got my full support”
Timmy Stewart (Jet Project) - “Cool, old house feel on the original mix”
Pete Dafeet – “the remix is my fave, monster hook”

The fourth release on Social Problem see Mat Playford join forces with old friend and house music legend Sandy Rivera under their Tube Tech guise. Thrown together by a chance meeting, Playford and Rivera have shared a musical development over the last 14 years. Whether writing music together or DJing on the same bill, the pair enjoy a unique bond that comes across in the music they make together

In it’s original form, The Balance punches and shimmers along at a healthy lick. Melodic and driving it encapsulates the sound of late night dancefloors. Tough but swinging beats are married with aggressive but grooved out stabs to create a hybrid sound relevant to the sound of now.

Mat steps up himself to provide an alternative mix that takes the track on a Giorgio Moroder like excursion via a jacking, chopped up electro groove and some seriously mind-warping distorted synths. Part cosmic, part techno; Playford’s remix hits all the right notes for 2009 dancefloors.
