After several months of intensive programming, testing, hair pulling, and a little more testing, we are finally ready to launch the 2nd version Clever Music.
v2 redifines the Clever Music ethos both as a netlabel and e-zine and has allowed us to give the site a much needed lick of paint. We hope you like it. v2 is now online, celebrating the launch with a double release from Pheek and Ali Khan - see below:

Kicking off Clever Music v2 we thought who better to get things moving than one of the most prolific contributors from v1, the Canadian whizz kid, Pheek. This first release touches all the right buttons, effortlessly invoking the best elements of dub, techno, house, minimalism, ambient...without even breaking a sweat. While the EP hints toward various contemporary influences from the Canadian and European minimal scene, there's something powerfully individual running throughout each track.

Ali Khan's EP is one of the most finely crafted collection of dancefloor minimalism that we've heard...and it's another god damn Canadian. There must be something in the water. We were shocked by the fact that Ali hadn't released anything prior to this EP, as the level of quality on offer is simply off the meter! Underpinned by Ali's use of the microphone, each track threatens to burst the speakers with their subby bass-lines and glitched up freak funk that sounds every bit faithful to Juan Atkin's back in the day definition of techno: like Parliament and Kraftwork stuck in an elevator!
