OVERCAST is electronic music project formed by Michael Pettit and Jamie Drouin in 2005. Centering their compositions around the sparse arrangements of minimal techno, the repetitive chords of dub, and fragments of field recordings, OVERCAST present an intense and introspective vision of modern electronic music.

In their influential live performances, OVERCAST focuses on a fluid interaction between the two members, creating a unique performance each time by relying on improvisation and randomness within their distinct style.

there's one thing about silent season that i really appreciate. most of the artists are from the same region of the north american continent as i (i'm in portland, i noticed alot of artists were from vancouver).

the records on silent season all encapsulate and enhance the cloudy hazey ambience of the weather in NW north america. i couldn't think of any other sound that describes the constant flow of clouds and rain as this label.

While The Beast keep a lower profile The Pursuit brings on a driving force more suitable for the floor. Moody and mellow. Definitely a keeper.
