[METISSE2.5] Efdemin - Martyn mixes

Post by fader »

It's time for something special!
Now really, how many records a year are receiving support from Sinden over Gilles Peterson through Surgeon? Talkin' bout crossover! :-) Who can unite all those worlds? Only Martyn can...

Because we think he is one of the most innovative producers in recent times, we asked Martyn to do a remix on Curle. Because he had bought 'Acid Bells' when it came out now two years ago, Martyn chose Efdemin's breakthrough hit to remix. We had to wait exactly one year to hear the result, as he first wanted to finish his debut album - the amazing 'Great Lengths' out now on 3024 - but it was most definitely worth the waiting. Not one but two remixes is what we got. The Dark Mix will without a doubt tear up many dancefloors worldwide, the Bittersweet Mix is just something very very special.

FEEDBACK:

Surgeon: I like both mixes and will play the dark mix tonight in Bristol!
Gilles Peterson: That is very useful indeed for me sir - love that samba sh!t - you know that!
Laurent Garnier: The 2 remixes are brilliant , you can be sure that i will hammer the dark mix everywhere in clubs and will playlist (at night) the ambient piano mix on the radio - You did it again for me!
Mr Scruff (Ninja Tuna): love it! i will play it at my residency this weekend
Pepe Bradock: I really like those Mixes
Efdemin: supercool! beautiful
Marcel Dettmann: in my chart!! http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj-chart ... hart=12023
Deetron: I really love those mixes! YES!!
Santiago Salazar (UR): really dig the "bittersweet" remix. gonna try and drop this one in the middle of my set :) DOPE!
Brendon Moeller aka Beat Pharmacy (Third Ear): I'm digging the ambient mix a lot! reminiscent of theo parrish...the beat driven mix makes for a nice DJ tool, rock on, dude!
Ramadanman (Soul Jazz, Apple Pips, Hessle Audio): really like the efdemin mix, especially the one with ze drums!
Florian Schirrmacher (Wareika, Cadenza): I do like Martyns bittersweet Mix a lot. will play. can´t wait.
Mathias Kaden (FAT, Vakant): I like the bittersweet mix a lot!
Zander VT (Bpitch): Bittersweet Mix is great!
Sebo K (Mobilee): wow! i love it bittersweet!
Gerd Janson (Running Back) love bitter sweet!
Will Saul (Simple, Aus): The bittersweet mix is simply amazing! Love it to death.... i've charted it: http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj-chart ... hart=11199
Exercise One (Lan Muzic): Fat!
John Roberts (Dial): thanks! i think both mixes sound strong. i'm especially drawn to the bittersweet mix, but the rhythm in the dark mix is great... it kind of has some uk garage elements, which i like.
Adam Marshall (New Kanada): nice drum work on the dark mix.. but for me it's all about the bittersweet version... mix is gorgeous.... great stuff
Darko Esser (Curle, Wolfskuil): the ambient version is absolutely stunning!! Martyn is deffo the man of the moment..

love the a-side

edit: is it just me or did the tracks get mixed up? i'm sure the "dark" remix is the one with the drums while the "bittersweet" remix is the ambient piano version...
