Artist: Ben Klock
Release Date: 12/01/2009
Label: Ostgut Ton
Releasetype: 12''
„Before One“ is an Ep preceding Ben Klock’s debut album „One“, which will bereleased at the end of feburary on Ostgut Ton.
It features four tracks, of which only one, „Init Two“, will be included on the album. These tracks already give a great impression of where „One“ is heading: Classic techno with heart and soul. On an equal footing with each other, all tracks display an even more complex quality
than we already came to expect from Ben. Here, Ben matches his original, bass heavy Berghain sound with almost tender Acid sequences („Subzero“), the shuffling monster groove of „Napoleon Hill“, a melody in „Before One“ that seeps into brains with no fail and an hommage to Berlin/Detroit inspired ambient on „Init Two“. This is a perfect record; for us, for self-respecting Techno djs, for everyone.
no samples
very much enjoying Napoleon Hill...

i guess mr kolck has a bit more to offer than mr dettmann ...
I mean music wise .
Dettmann simply knows the history of the electronic music and know how to use it, but his productions are simply dry, there's a constant lack of sth.
Klock's rmxs of Kerri Chandler make me wait for more - want the album !

Agreed. Dettman is the star at the moment but the truth lies behind Klock and Norman Nodge imo.bshosa wrote:i guess mr kolck has a bit more to offer than mr dettmann ...
